We've taught Kathan so much already in his almost 4 years. 

Letters, numbers, colors, shapes, days of the week.. the list goes on. We also have to teach him to look right. To say the right thing. Not to drive too fast. If you're pulled over keep your hands on the wheel and look straight ahead. If you're in trouble don't resist arrest. He'll never own a toy gun (even the water kind) because quite frankly someone who hates the idea that he is who God made him might just kill him for no reason. 

Sick of the narrative. Sick of it being our men. Sick of living with the fear that my husband, who bikes almost daily in a neighborhood where 98% of the people don't look like him, could be killed by a neighbor when all he's doing is try to get some good cardio in. Sick of fearing that my son could be chased and gunned down for walking and wearing a hoodie on a chilly evening in the neighborhood that he lives in with his tax paying parents. Just sick.
